~Valkyrie's POV~

The car seemed incredibly quiet as I drove home. Kynaree who was still mad at me had gotten a ride from Trudie and I was stuck with Nathan and my bodyguards for company. "Where's Oni?" Layla asked finally breaking the comfortable silence that had filled the car. Ugh I knew it was going to come up I had just hoped it would wait a couple of days so I could think of a good reply.

"I told him to take a break for awhile." I lied to her. There was no need to let them know the truth just yet.

"How come?" She asked. God she was nosy today. Either that or I was just easily annoyed at the moment. I went with the second.

"Because he has been having a hard time getting used to all the werewolves and the Dartan at the school. I'm afraid that he might possibly lose control and blow our cover." I lie again through my teeth, proud of myself that, that at least the lie seemed like a logical explanation.

"But he always seems so in control." She protested. It was true to, Oni was good at keeping himself in control...until you pissed him off.

"That was just so I wouldn't worry about him. He finally admitted to me the other night that he has been having trouble keeping his cool around so many enemies and humans." I told her.

"Oh." Was all she said before the car went silent again. I dropped everyone off and Nathan and I went back to my house where Trudie and Kynaree were already there. Through most of the night Kynaree would glare at me or give me the silent treatment. Most of the time it was both. I was starting to get fed up with it. I kept debating whether or not to tell her but seeing as how I had to live with her until this whole mess was over I didn't want to feel her angry glares at my back anymore.

"Kynaree. Will you stop giving me the silent treatment and quit glaring at me if I tell you what Cecil was thinking?" I asked her. She toned her glare down a notch before looking at me again.

"Maybe." She muttered. I sighed stupid stubborn faerie. I was surprised she had even kept up her grudge for this long. Faeries were normally known for easily forgiving people, not holding grudges except for a few minutes.

"Look it may be hard to believe this but Cecil likes you." I told her hoping she would get the hint that I was trying to get across to her.

"Duh he's my friend he's supposed to like me." I hit my forehead with my hand. I had forgotten that they could also be very oblivious to their surroundings for they easily got distracted.

"No not like that Kynaree. He likes you a tad more than a friend he just can't get over his commitment issues." I told her. Which was completely true.

"Ya right liar." She said and stomped away.

"Well it was worth a shot." I told Nathan who was standing in the doorway.

"Well she'll probably stop ignoring you now at least." He smiled.

"One could hope. For a person who hates silence she sure is good at it." I told him.

"That's for sure." He agreed. I went upstairs into my room and flipped through my homework that I had no intention of doing. I closed my English book and sighed. I couldn't believe it but I was bored.

~*~ Rayna's POV ~*~


When I pulled in the driveway someone was tearing out of the driveway and when I walked into the entryway there was shattered glass everywhere. I looked around the corner and Valkyrie and Nathan seemed comfy on the couch so I located the broom and cleaned up the mess, wouldn't want anyone to trip and start bleeding in a vamps house.

At lunch the next day I sat with the pack and I found it pretty amusing how a group of girls were attempting to flock around Valkyrie's table, let's hope she doesn't have a jealous side.

"So how's it at the bloodsuckers house?" Wyatt asked with false interest

"It's fine, even if she does stick her guests in a basement full of skeletons for a while she eventually lets us eat and sleep in beds."I laughed a bit

"OMG!" Wyatt shouted out "actual beds, that's amazing, I thought she'd be using coffins."

I shook my head a bit "Nope actual beds and there real comfy too" I told them

"Hmph, what are the odds of her letting me stay there" Tryst asked

"slim...very slim" I smiled then dumped my tray for the day

After school at Valkyrie's house it was almost the same as the night before but minus the angry glass smashing vampire, and adding one Fearie who was abnormally quiet.

As it got darker Kynaree and Trudie went to bedand Valkyrie and I were on the couch watching something on T.V.

"So what was Oni's problem yesterday, he seemed kinda angry.... a whole lotta angry." I said

Valkyrie let out a groan, "He's was acting like that because I excused him from the head of my guard, but for good reason..." she trailed off a bit

"Is it kinda like the Lian situation?" I asked

"Yea, well I'm off to bed, if Tryst calls with any information about Lian, let me know k, night" she hopped of the couch and headed for the stairs.

I decided to call Tryst and ask him why Lian wasn't at school today. I was waiting for about half a minute before someone picked up on the other line.

"Hey" Tryst answered, this was kinda weird hearing him over the phone, I swear i've only talked to him once or twice like this before everything else was always in person.

"Hi" oh jeeze this felt way to weird "Hi" he said back I think it was as weird for him as it was for me.

"Do you wanna come over?" I asked without thinking I heard a small laugh from the other end

"What about Valkyrie?" he asked "She just retired for the night" I told him

"Oh, so it's kinda like the wolfs will play while the vampires away"I could tell he was smiling

"No, the wolfs will talk while the vampires away" I fixed is little saying

"Well that doesn't make any sense I mean it doesn't even rhyme"

"Just get over here" I said then hung up.

I opened the door before he knocked and ushered him into the living room.

"So, any reason why you wanted me over here or did you just miss me?" He smirked and I rolled my eyes

"Well first it's kinda weird talking to you over the phone, so that's why your here, but anyways I was wondering why Lian wasn't in school today."

"I asked him that after school and he was pretty much saying that he was an emotional wreck, bullshit, I mean he wasn't like that when he lost you so I wasn't buying it." he told me

The way he said that felt to open and it made me not really want to talk to him anymore. I pursed my lips and started counting all the buttons on the remote. He noticed and took the remote away then I grabbed a magazine and started reading it he took that away to.

I was searching the room for something else when he stood up. "You're upset" he said that like a question.

"I little, I don't like it when you talk about that that." I said, "I can leave if you want" He suggested. I shook my head, "I really should put that behind me but somehow I can't, and now that Lovella's dead I don't think I can..."I paused "I should've known she was in trouble, I should have been able to get there in time, I'm the lousiest alpha ever." I said putting myself down.

"That doesn't mean you can blame yourself for her death-" "Yes it does" I raised my voice "Thats plus one for Dr.D and a loss for us, what if someone else dies, I don't think I can live with myself if that happens." I could feel a wave of heat running through my body and my eyes were starting to tear up a bit.

"Rayna you can't place these high expectations on yourself, just because your father was an alpha" He tried to explain "yea a good alpha, he was one of the greatest pack leaders ever, remember and he's my father i'm supposed to try and live up to that." I said getting frustrated

"and ... and what happens if someone else does die?" I asked out of the blue. "Then we'll deal with it, when that time comes" he said

I wasn't fully convinced but I just left it at that. "So do you still want me to leave?" He teased

"That would be nice" Valkyrie was standing behind the couch in her pajamas. Our heads snapped in her direction. Tryst quickly stood up "Uh- I just got here" He tried to tell her "No you didn't, but the next time you visit just give me a heads up so I don't wake up in the middle of the night smelling another werewolf and thinking we're under attack." she said then walked back to her room.

I walked Tryst to the door and gave him a kiss goodnight then went to my room for some sleep which I needed.

Xian's POV

I walked up to the apartment door. I unlocked the dead bolt and the lock on the nob. I went in and led Ethan to the back bedroom across from mine. Ethan threw his bag on the bed and sat down.

"Xian, thank you for letting me stay here, I really want this to work out, I dont know if I can do this anymore." Ethan said from the bed, as he continued to talk, I was getting more confused on the words he said. "They are our enemy! I cant just forgive that and let them become or allies!" Then I realized.

He sounded just like Aurora. I went over to him and grabbed his arm and ripped him up to his feet. "What did you just say?" i yelledly asked him.

"I said nothing! What are you doing?" He pushed against me.

"Why were you saying that?"

"Saying what?!" He was really confused.

"That thing you said when you were sitting on the bed?!"

"I said that I was thankful that you let me stay here."

"And?"

"That all I said when you pulled me up and started screaming at me!"

I didnt know what was going on, He sounded exactly like Aurora had before she left. I didnt know how I heard the words come from Ace's lips. I needed serious help.

I ran to the bathroom and splashed the cold water onto my face.

When I sat up to look at my self in the mirror, there was nothing there. But when I focued my eyes I could barely see the reflection of Oni. I didnt know why I saw Oni's reflection insteead of my own. His reflection became more clear as the seconds ticked by. I could see him perfectly clear as if it were my own reflection. I saw blood all over his mouth and teeth.

Was this a sign. I thought of it and analysed it as I went into the guest room where I found Ethan still confused on the bed. Was I seeing Oni's reflection in replacement of mine because I was seeing the bad in what this was. Was I hearing Aurora's words about the enemy in Ethan's voice, for a reason?

Was I making a good decision about trusting the vampires?

~Trudie's POV~

After a pretty interesting day at school where Kynaree jumped all over Valkyrie in the hallway and everybody was about to start chanting "Fight, fight, fight, fight!" It was pretty funny, who knew she was that strong.

She demanded I drove her home because she didn't want to talk to Valkyrie. I told her it would be pretty hard to live with someone who you arn't talking to. She didn't care. Later that night, Valkyrie told Kynaree that Cecil liked her. I already knew it though the way he looked at her. I think Kynaree deep inside, likes him too.

After a while, when everybody went to bed I still couldn't sleep. Ever since I got my new powers I couldn't sleep, I guess its a trait that comes along with this not yet defined power of mine, i heard a new voice downstairs. Talking to Rayna. The way they were talking I figured she new him. Maybe it was some werewolf like Wyatt or Tryst I don't know what their voices sound like. I forget about it and try to go to sleep but I can't. Eventually I hear footsteps going into the Living Room and its Valkyrie going to yell at Rayna for letting who ever it was in the house. I didn't care. I looked at the clock, it was 1 in the morning.

At 4 in the morning I saw a Ghost roam through my room to the room next door. I push my powers to try and knock the walls down so I could see through them. I thought that would help me tell who the Ghost was, but no. I didn't know who he was. I knew he was a he but didn't recognize him. I figured it was somebody Kynaree knew before he died. Was it a family member?

I was interested now but then all of a sudden when I was focusing on Kynaree for a little while I saw something. It was Cecil and Kynaree, they were walking on a beach somewhere. I don't know where it would be since its 40 degrees outside and in the middle of January, but it what I was seeing. Why was I seeing it? I didn't know. All I knew was it was from Kynaree's point of view because all I could think about was his hair, and thats not something I want to think about all the time.

"...I really like you hair." Kynaree said.

"Really? Me too." Cecil answers.

"Its all poofy. Poof. Poof." Kynaree says.

"Thanks."

It fell silent for a long time, when they were just walking down the side of the beach in they're swim suits with Cecils six-pack showing. "Will you go out with me?" He said sounding a little unsure of the answer. but all of a sudden my view went to a different part of what must be Kynaree's life.

Now it was a dog jumping all over her. All I could think was what the hell? First Cecil have a six-pack, when would that happen? And then DOGS? What is she thinking.

Finally she woke up to get some breakfast we both went down stairs at the same time. Out of the blue she started talking to me about this weird dream she had last night. She started talking about the whole Cecil, walking on the beach, six-packed stomach thing, and then about the dogs and i'm like OMG... I saw your dreams last night. I explained it all to her the whole story. About the ghost and about the dreams and knocking down the walls and the not being able to sleep thing. Everything. She just stared and didn't believe me.

When Valkyrie came down Kynaree didn't say anything to her about the dream. So I didn't say anything about my power...'expanding'.

Kynaree decided to ride with me to school and when we got there. She ran of to find Cecil right when we got there. I followed her. I overheard her conversation with Cecil.

"Hey, I have a Question for you." Kynaree said to Cecil.

"Ok, What?" He asked questioningly.

"Do you have a six-pack?" I had to force myself not to laugh so she didn't know I was eavesdropping.( idk if thats spelt right but thats how my sis said it was so if its not... Blame Jenny.)

"Umm... No?" he said confused and embarressed.

"Oh," She said sounding disapointed.

"Why?"

"I don't know, Just wondering." That was all I heard before they walked aways o I could no longer hear them from my lovely hidding spot, behind the dumpster.

I walk/run to class so i'm not late and when I get there I am over 5 minutes late so I don't go. I skip first hour and went to second hour when it was time. The day flew by and when we went home I decided not to let Kynaree choose to ride with me I forced her. And I started talking about Cecil and forced her to talk too.

~Kynaree's POV~

When I got out of school Trudie practically shoved me into the car and started racing away. I was going to ask her if we were on the run from something until she started asking the questions instead. "So, what did Cecil think about your dream?"

"He thought it was weird and laughed at me," I said, wondering what this was all about.

"Do you believe me, I mean about seeing your dream?" she asked next.

"I don't know... How about I test you? Tomorrow you recite whatever I dream about tonight."

"Fine," she rolled her eyes, "So did Cecil ask you out yet?"

"What?" I snorted, "Do you actually believe what Valkyrie said?"

"Yeah, and you don't?" she replied raising her eyebrows. I shook my head and she looked like she was trying to hold back a laugh.

"Valkyrie's delusional or just trying to distract me from the whole psycho Dr. Dartan deal. Besides she might have misheard what he was thinking, he's been lacking caffeine--" I was going to go on until Trudie interrupted me.

"Quit making up excuses for him Kynaree. Just face it, Cecil has a thing for you," she still had a stupid grin from holding back laughter seconds before. I didn't say anything after that and thought about it. What if they were right and he asked me out? What would I say? I came up with scenarios and when we got to Valkyrie's house Trudie had to shake me out of it. "Kynaree?"

"Hm?"

"Are you going to get out of the car?"

"I'm going to say no," I stated as I stepped out of the vehicle.

"What?" she said, completely confused.

"If he asks me, which there's a slight chance he might. I'm going to say no," I explained.

That night I concentrated on doing homework and drawing. For dinner I ate weird foods so I would have odd dreams that Trudie would never guess. My dreams included a hamster wheel, barnyard chess pieces and an amazing easel. They were all inside a huge marble shower that had colorful fountains and bubbles. When I woke up I knew that Trudie would never be able to repeat my dreams. I turned out to be wrong of course, she even mentioned the pig on the chess piece had wings. I finally admitted I believed her.

Valkyrie's POV

I overhead the conversation between Kynaree and Trudie and about how Trudie's powers were expanding. I didn't ask them about it though as I roamed around the house just barely hanging onto reality as I slipped into a daydream of solitude. Nathan was out hunting, while I had stayed behind to make sure nothing happened here. He wasn't alone though as I told Layla to go with him. He tried to tell me that he would be fine by himself but I wasn't taking any chances, not with the way Oni reacted the other night.

Rayna was out with her pack and Kynaree and Trudie were talking among each other. I hadn't heard anything from Xian lately and I wondered how he was holding up without Aurora. Seeing as how he was the only one who really knew when Dr.Dartan was coming I figured that it would be smart to know all the information before calling in the vampire warriors who were preparing for this.

It had been awhile since my people had seen an actual war like this. Normally there were just small battles between us and the wolves which were normally taken care of before anything could really start. I didn't even remember the last time the vampires were in a full out war. It must have been bad though if my parents, who I had asked about it, refused to talk about it.

I was going to try and get them to though. If something like this happened once before in the past I needed to know how to fight this before everyone got killed. I snapped back to reality when I reached my parents' room and knocked on their door. I hadn't even realized that I had been heading that way.

"Come in Valkyrie." Skylla's voice was clear enough for me to hear as if she was standing right next to me. I opened the door and bowed lightly to my parents for they were still the rulers of this clan and even though I was their daughter I still had to show my respect to their stature.

"Mother, Father." I greeted them after standing back up.

"Is something wrong?" My father asked. His face showed concern and hesitation. I knew that he could read my mind, which was why he hesitated. He knew what I had come here to ask about.

"No, but I need you to tell me about the war that happened along time ago. If it's anything like this I need to know how to fight this. I can't have these people's blood on my hands." I told them almost begging them to tell me. If it wasn't for my pride I probably would have gone down my knees and actually started begging them for the information that I desperately needed.

"Valkyrie you know your mother and I refuse to talk about this." Onyx's voice was stern. I almost yelled out in frustration. I didn't care if they refused to talk about it, right now they needed to talk about it.

"I know father but I can't let our warriors die or anyone else just because you and mother are to weak to recall your past." My voice grew angry. I tried toning it down but I couldn't help it, my people mattered more than my parents being hurt from remembering a war that had happened almost over a century ago. For some reason they smiled at each other and then looked at me with the same grin on their face. I was really confused at that moment.

"Valkyrie over the years you had proved that you were strong enough to rule our people, yet you also weren't. You let your emotions over cloud your judgment to much and you were also to obedient. If your father or I ever told you not to do something you would obey without a question. Even if the issue was not fair you still took it without an argument. Now you are finally realizing that sometimes you have to hurt someone a little or break a few rules before you can get what you want." My mother told me, pride sparkling in her eyes as she spoke. I always knew I was an obedient child but I figured that was just because they raised me right, I never thought it was a bad thing before.

My father then went on to tell me about a power hungry vampire who started to collect the blood of all types of mythical creatures. I was about to interrupt him with a question but he cut me off and explained before I could ask. "She was trying to create a hybrid." He explained and then continued with his story. She was unstoppable with her army of hybrids. It had taken her awhile and her work was blasphemy but soon she figured the right mixture of the blood types and she succeed and she no longer needed our support. At first only the vampires fought against her, losing many of our kin.

Finally after so many killings of the wolves, the wolves joined us and for the first time in history vampire and werewolf put aside their hatred and fought together against Midori's hybrid army. Even the faeries had joined the war, making themselves into their little flying forms becoming harder for the hybrids to catch. In the end the war was barely won and if felt nothing like a victory as many loved ones lay dying in the streets, some greatly wounded screaming from the agony of their wounds. The only way we won was by joining forces with everyone.

"What about the Dartans?" I asked realizing that my father hadn't mentioned them in his story. Had they fought alongside Midori?

"Their kind didn't exist yet." My mother told me.

"So what about the humans did they know what was happening?" There were so many questions in my head I didn't know which to ask first.

"Oh they knew. This was during the time when humans still believed in vampires, werewolves, and faeries. They locked every possible entrance in their home, windows included, hoping that their worst nightmares wouldn't break down their door and devour everyone inside it. After the war was over we stripped their minds of the experience, leaving them clueless about our kinds."

I left there room and headed upstairs to mine where I stared out the window. All the knew information swirled inside my head.

Dr. Dartan's POV

I had finally done it. I had finally found the way to avenge my grandmother Midori's failure and death.

I will finally defeat those bloodsucking demons and kill those ridicuous faeries and those werewolf creatures and all the other creatures once and for all.

I stood over my army. They were strong enough, fast enough, they were perfect. They obeyed me like I was there father, well I technically was. I have created the altimate army to defeat the mythical creatures of this world.

I was on the balcony of the large warehouse. My army of, 1,234 newly made, fresh of the conveyer belt, hot off the press Dartans. I had done it.

I had been planning to attack tonight but with the newly discovered information about what is being planned by Valkyrie, I couldnt tonight. With Aurora out of the picture, Xian is a complete wreck. He cant even function. But now that I knew about Ace and how he has betrayed me, Xian would bounce back and be able to fight.

Addy was safe with Aurora. And I had Oni on a mission to find Jason, the man who I had changed to Dartan to follow in my footsteps if somehting were to happen to me and I was unable to fulfill my duty to destroy all the mythical creatures. But he also betrayed me, he went and stole Xian and Aurora away from me. He made sure that they were raised to hate me. Jason turned them against me.

But now that I had improved the gene, and made the Dartans more efficient, I could finally win. But there as one other problem. Xian was now getting his powers. They were not suppose to show up for a few more years. But the gene has mutated in his body and creating it to evolve faster than intended. But, with every downer in my plan there was an upside. Xian's new power would drain him mentally before it would fully become usable to him. He would go mad before it would help him. And hopefully, that would be after the war.

Now all I had to worry about was the vampires, the wolves, the faerie, and the human girl that was becoming more and more interesting the more I spied on her.

Xian's POV

I was afraid. For the furst time I was afraid for myself. I was always worried about Aurora, and even Ace. But never myself.

But I was terrified. What was happening to me? The walls of every room of my mind were closing in. I couldnt think straight. My mind were going down in a smiralling vortex, all my thoughtts getting sucked in. Each thought that I would think would spiral down. Each thought was different. I was thinking about Aurora one second and the next, spaghetti. I couldnt focus.

Currently I was in the bathtub. I was rocking back and forth. I couldnt think at all at one point. Ace tried to help me, he came by me bringing me water, that I drank without feeling of it on my tongue or down my throat. I could feel nothing. He had to hold the glass up to my mouth and pour it in. I was gone. Mentally I was gone. I couldnt bring myself back. I could see everything. Ace, bringing me water, a wet wash cloth, dabbing the sweat from my brow.

He was just as confused as I was about what was going on with me, but he stayed there and helped me, I was truly grateful. He didnt know if I was having a mental break down, or something in my body was going to implode, but he knew that he could never, ever call the hospital. One blood test or checking my eyes for dilated pupils would give away that I wasnt human. I was trapped.

There was a pain inside that I couldnt understand. Every ounce of my body felt like it was going to explode. I couldnt understand what was going to happen to me. I was feeling like i was going to die. If not die from the pain, then die from not knowing what was happening. I couldnt go on like this. But right now, I could do nothing. I coulnt move, couldnt feel, and could barely breathe.

~Valkyrie's POV~

I awoke in the middle of the night, sweat dripping along my forehead. I couldn't recall my dream but I knew it had to be something important. Instead of trying to go back to sleep I got showered and dressed before looking at the clock. It was only 1:30, normally to early to wake Nathan up, but today he didn't have a choice.

Quietly so as not to wake anyone else up I barged into Nathan's room and he awoke suddenly drawing the dagger from underneath his pillow. He relaxed when he saw that it was me but he gave me a puzzling look as I came into the room.

"What's wrong?" He asked, worry replacing the puzzled look on his face.

"I'm not sure. We haven't heard anything from Xian and I'm still wondering if we can trust him. " I admitted pacing in front of the window. Nathan climbed out of his bed, coming over to me and held me in his arms.

"I'll be ready in less then five minutes." He told me knowing exactly what was going on in my head. He was ready soon and we headed out to the garage where we got into my corvette. I drove over to Xian's apartment and didn't even bother with the doorman. I just went up there. When he tried to stop Nathan and I, we just glared at him and he backed off. Nathan picked the lock easily and we were in.

Remembering which one was Xian's apartment we wasted no time getting there. I pounded on the door but only loud enough for him to hear and not wake the humans. "Xian open up or I will break the door down." I said. There was something different about how the place smelled. It seemed like there was another Dartan there but I couldn't recognize the scent. It wasn't Aurora and the scent seemed weaker like it wasn't a very powerful Dartan, then again there were Dartan's with the ability to mask themselves to make them seem like they are an easy opponent.

The door opened and I saw Xian's human friend Ace...but he wasn't so human. "Great first Trudie is wacko human who is not human then this guy is a freaking Dartan what next...am I going to turn into a faerie now?" I muttered to Nathan.

"Let's hope not." Nathan said just as quietly. I strode past Ace and into the bathroom where I found Xian. Thinking this was just another Aurora withdrawal I stood there shaking my head.

"You truly are pathetic." I told him. This guy couldn't go one day without his stupid mate, how in the hell was he supposed to battle an immortal vampire and his army of hybrids.

"This isn't from Aurora. He's developing a new power but it's having a weird side effect that we don't know what's going on." Ace explained.

"God I've wanted to do this for awhile now." I said going over to Xian. I bent down and looked him in the eyes and then without warning I slapped him across the face. "Snap out of it!" I yelled at him. This happened to not be one of my more brilliant ideas. Xian glared at me and then before I could stop him I was slammed against the wall, my throat crushing under his iron grip. Before he could do any real damage Nathan threw him off of me, Xian slammed into a wall with a loud thud and I could see the start of a hole there now. Xian recovered and seemed to regain a bit of his sanity. Nathan though didn't trust him so he stood in front of me, becoming an unbreakable wall.

"Why are you here?" he asked his voice raspy as if he hadn't drank anything for awhile.

"Well it would be nice to know if you knew anything new about Dr.Dartan." I told him after recovering from the lack of oxygen that even though I didn't need it had become a habit.

"I don't know anything." He said.

"Also it would be nice to know when another Dartan comes around to help us that might know more about this than all of us might." I glared at both of them.

"I just found out myself. Sorry that you're not on my speed dial so I could contact you." His voice was filled with sarcasm. From the look in his eyes I could tell he was about to slip back into the mess of his mind leaving behind his sanity.

"Xian, stay with us... if you give up and slip into whatever hell your mind has become you won't be able to save Aurora. You won't be able to keep her safe." I told him softly hoping that this would work.

With the battle drawing ever nearer all I could do was stare blankly at a wall and play with my eyelids. You know that weird sound your eyelid makes when you pull on it and release? Yeah, I like that sound so I kept making the click, click noise until my eye was dry and sore and then I started on the other one.

After about five clicks on my second eye Trudie came in and interrupted me. "... Are you busy?" she asked giving me a strange look.

"I guess I'm not that busy"

"Okay, I was just bored and wanted to hang out with someone" she sighed and plopped on my bed next to me. "So, how was your day?"

"Same old, same old, besides my dream everything's been pretty normal" I said trying to think if there was anything odd that happened today. Which there wasn't any that I could think of, it was really plain-like. "Is it just me or are you waiting for like some psychos to come knock down the door to eat us?"

"I think it's mostly just you"

"Okay" she left because I was boring her worse then before. And now the click sound my eye made was better because there was juice in it from taking a break and actually blinking. You know, after a while the sound of the click just isn't as great anymore, so now I needed to find something to do. I didn't think Valkyrie would care if I tried to use her cell phone so I picked it up and flipped it open.

I pressed the digits to Cecil's number and let the phone ring until I heard him answer "Hello?"

"Hey" I said trying to sound enthusiastic so he wouldn't' jump into conclusions and think I'm calling because there was an emergency. I was finally catching on to his paranoid way of thinking. I sat there in an awkward silence for a while.

"So..." he trailed off.

"So..." I agreed.

"Why did you call me?" he didn't sound mad, just kind of curious and bored as me. I tried to think of a reason.

"I was just wondering, do you think the sound your eyelid makes when it sticks back on to your eye is cool?" That wasn't really why I called him but it sounded like a good excuse to me. There was a slight pause.

"I don't know" I didn't know what to say after that.

"Okay, and I was just really really bored" I admitted.

"Who would've thought, Kynaree bored?" he sounded sarcastic. I wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean so I kind of just sat there on the couch until he said something else, but he didn't.

"So, yeah" I said breaking the silence.

"Mm-hm" he replied. "Well, I gotta go. I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Buh-bye then" I mumbled and he said bye and hung up. Now who was I supposed to talk to? I chased away Trudie with my boredom and Cecil. Who was next on my list? I frowned. I must have been really bored, bored enough to where other people caught my boredom. Then an idea sparked into my mind "Trudie! Trudie!" I yelled and ran into her room without knocking.

"What?"

"I think I've gained a new power!" I said happily.

"What would that be" she didn't sound like she cared at all.

"The power.... to make people bored!" I ended it with an evil laugh. She gave me a skeptical look and went back to what she was doing before, which was reading. "I believed you, now you need to believe me"

"What? You didn't believe me! I had to prove it to you" she glared. Then a weird smile crossed her face, "Okay, next person that walks into that door you need to make them bored"

"Alright no problem"

Valkyrie's POV~

Xian's head snapped up and looked me in the eye. "What did you do to Aurora? Why did you make her leave!" He yelled loudly. Nathan took another protective step behind so I was farther away from Xian. I looked behind me and saw that I was almost pushed up against the wall.

"I didn't do anything to her. But your good friend Dr.Dartan probably did." I snarled at him. I didn't like to be accused of something that I took no part in. It was what our two races did though. Whenever something went wrong it didn't take us long to blame the Dartans or even the wolves.

"I hope you know what you're doing Valkyrie. If you get hurt I'm blaming you." Nathan said low enough for only me to hear.

"I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm winging it." I told him just as low. I saw the light shake of his head and knew that he disapproved. That didn't stop me from slightly grinning. I was usually pretty good at winging it.

"Xian you have to gain control of yourself, and I can't believe I'm saying this but.. we need you for this war. If you want to keep Aurora and even Addy for that matter safe, you need to use the extra strength that you have in you from the vampire gene and use it to keep your sanity." I told him softly. I couldn't believe I was trying to help him. Maybe this would be the war to bring everyone together and keep in that way.

"Why should I trust you? Why should I trust you filthy bloodsuckers. For all I know you are behind all of this. I saw your bodyguard in the mirror, leech, his mouth was full of blood, how do I know that you really aren't the ones working for Dr.Dartan. How do I know that you haven't already killed Aurora and Addy!" He screamed. Afraid he was going to attack Nathan crouch down in front of me going into his predator stance, his fangs slipping out of his mouth. He was more vampire than ever at that moment.

Even though Xian looked like he wanted to attack he seemed to have enough control over his twisted mind to stop himself. "Nathan stand down. If he was going to attack he would have two seconds ago." I told him calmly. Nathan stood up but he stayed in front of me and kept his fangs out.

"Look Xian I have not hurt, nor have I talked to Aurora except for once and that was when I caught her following me. Even then I didn't hurt her I just gave her a warning." I admitted. "Also you saw Oni's reflection like that because he has betrayed me and my people. He is hopefully the only one of my clan working with Dr.D the other clans I don't know though." I continued.

"I think we should leave now Valkyrie." Nathan muttered.

"I believe you're right." I agreed. "Make sure he doesn't lose his mind Ace. If you have to remind him of Aurora, or slap him a couple of times. That I don't suggest though." I told him rubbing my neck which still slightly hurt.

"He'll be safe with me." Ace assured me. I got out a pencil and paper and wrote down my cell phone number.

"There now you can tell me when you know something new. After this is all over though, make sure my number isn't in either of your phones. I just want everything to go back to normal after this is all said and done." I sighed handing the slip of paper to Ace. He nodded and put the slip of paper into his pocket. Nathan and I headed back downstairs and we drove back to my place in silence.

~Trudie's POV~

Kynaree came in and interupted me from my reading to tell me that she had a new power, to make people bored. Well I'll tell ya one thing. It worked on me... until it was turned into a game. Now I'm just waiting for someone to open the door to see if her power is a power.

"Ya know Kynaree, you probably just think that you can make people bored. Because you can---" I start but she cuts me off.

"You mean you believe me?

"No, I just think you're really boring to be around so when someone comes by you they become bored, since your boring and then they leave."

"No, I tell ya. I got this new power. You know I don't care if you believe me." She said starting to walk out the door when Valkyrie walks in.

"Kynaree just wanted to tell you that your lovers here." Valkyrie said.

"What? He's not my lover!" She screamed back so loud that Cecil could probably overhear downstairs. "We are just friends." She said trying to calm herself down. But if there was any chance of him asking her out. That's long gone. Out of the question.

Kynaree left the room and went downstairs. I could faintly hear her say hi and then he asked her if she wanted to go out to eat. She said ya screamed she was going and left.

"I'm going to bed." Valkyrie said. "She so likes him!" Valkyrie muttered before walking out the door.

Then there was me. Left to my sleepless nights and my reading. I get a lot of reading done now that I can't sleep.

I finished my book and it was three in the morning. I got up and saw that Kynaree wasn't home yet. I figured it had gotten to late for her and she went to spent the night at Cecils. I saw Valkyrie and Rayna were still sleeping or in their beds trying to and I figured I would go shoping. I usually don't like shopping that much but now I'm in the mood, and its three in the morning.

So I leave a not for them in case they wake before I come back and I leave for the mall. Since it's three in the morning everything is closed, but after driving for a little while I find a mall open. It's a guys mall and it has tools and stuff like that in it. But i'm desperate to shop so a I go in anyway.

They have a Sears and I go there for a little while and all of a sudden I feel a hand over my mouth and i'm being pulled out of view of any witnesses. They knock me out and when I come back to my sences I find myself in a really dark room i've never seen before. All of a sudden someone walks in. I don't know if I truly never seen him before or if it's just to dark to tell?

"Hey Trudie. I heard you have a power to see ghosts and peoples dreams?" This very tall man said.

"Mhhhh.." I tried to talk not realizing I still had tape over my mouth.

"Yeah thats right. You can't talk." As he walks closer I realize hes not wearing any clothes. He came up to me and took the tape off my mouth saying. "I'll take this off, if you obide(stw) by my rules."

At first I thought he was gonna rape me. And then I realized after he and I talked for a little while that he and I had a lot in common. Maybe he wouldn't have to rape me.

NO! Trudie! What are you thinking. This is probably one of Dr. D's plans. Get me in 'love' with this freaks so i'll join his side. NOT happening.

But look how cute he is and i've missed having a boyfriend--NO!

The guy leaves after talking to me about how I'm supposed to kill Nathen. Like thats gonna happen? Wouldn't have a home after Valkyrie found out about that.

I tried to get my hands untied from behind the chair. They just weren't coming free. Uh-oh the doors opening again. Stop your parinoid. But your not. The door opens and he comes back. Still no clothes. Uh-oh. So now hes gonna rape me.

He walks over and unknots my wrists. My hands are free. I try to squirm free but hes too strong. He grabs my wrists in one hand and unties my ankle. He lifts me up carries me over to the other side of the room and throws me on a bed. A Bed? Uh-oh. He starts taking my clothes off. Telling me that I'm gonna love him when hes done. Yeah dought that. But I can't stop him. Hes too strong. He tells me I'm to kill Valkyrie for him. If I killed Valkyrie then Nathen would be vonerable(stw) and then I could kill him too. I told him no, and he just said that he wasn't gonna stop. I didn't have a choice. He was raping me. I had to agree.

He finally let me go and said he'd be watching. I guess this is the beginning of the war? I go back home and Valkyries not there. Kynaree and Rayna are though and I tell them I needed to talk to everybody. Expecially Valkyrie. Rayna called Valkyrie for me since I could barly talk. She rushed home.

I started telling her the story when I was done with the rape part. I said, "Valkyrie, he wants me to kill you so it would be easier to kill Nathen."

~*~ Rayna's POV ~*~


I heard Trudie leave the house around 3 am and about a half an hour later a phone rang, I heard Valkyrie pick up mumble some words to the person on the other end then leave the house, Kynaree was still gone so it was just me for now.

My phone went off and when I picked it up Tryst was on the other end, but something didn't seem right.

"Are you safe?" He asked frantically "I'm pretty sure" I looked around the room "What are you talking about?" I asked

"Who's there with you? is Valkyrie there?" There was so much worry in his voice

"No, I'm here alone" I was confused now

"shit... I'm on my way over" He said then hung up before I could figure everything out

I slowly closed the phone and got out of bed turning on a couple lights through out the house, I was alone oddly enough, normally a bunch of people are here but not this morning.

There was a knocking sound and quickly went to get the door for Tryst. I unlocked the door and twisted the handle, the person on the other side didn't wait for me to open it before they shoved it open. I backed away so the door wouldn't hit me and watched it ricochet off the wall a bit.

The silhouette in the doorway stepped forward, it wasn't Tryst but Lian. His eyes were pitch black and he had is wolf teeth exposed along with claws. Dried blood encrusted his mouth and chin.

With each step he took forward I took a step back. He was in phase one of our packs wolf stage and he looked very hostile.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. His movements were fast, he grabbed me by the throat and slammed me into the wall. "I'm here for your blood." he whispered in my ear all creepy like.

My eyes widened as he started to tighten his grip on my throat and tried to pierce through the skin.

"Lian stop" I gasped for air and tried to break free but it was no use his want for my blood was over empowering. I could feel the wolf inside starting to become angry, shivers ran across my skin and I could tell that Lian noticed the copper coming to life in my eyes.

I grabbed his wrists and tore them away from my throat drawing blood from my own neck, I pushed him away and ran for the door. He growled loundly and chased me out the door, the moment I turned my head around he was lunging for me with his bloody teeth exposed.

A split second later someone crashed into him and they went rolling into some trees creating loud cracking noises and causing a few small ones to fall over.

Through the trees came deep growls and roars, I peeked through the trees and Lian was fighting with Tryst. I ran back inside the house and grabbed my phone in my room then dialed Valkyries number she answered but the line went blank when my phone suddenly died...that's just my luck.

Back downstairs Kynaree was coming through the door. She seemed just fine and looked at me weird because my eyes were wild looking I looked to the door then ran outside.

Tryst and Lian were gone but there were still traces that they were actually in the trees. Kynaree came outside behind me.

"Are you ok, cus you look kinda crazy?" she asked "uh yea, hey did you see anybody out here when you got home" I asked "No, but I heard some animals fighting, but they might be gone now cus they were heading deeper into the woods" she replied

We went back inside and I figured that hopefully everything was under control, a bit later Trudie came home and she wasn't looking so good, I called Valkyrie up once I plugged my phone into the charger and told her to get home immediately it was an emergency, or a couple emergencies.

while we waited Tryst called me and told me he was all right, I was finally able to calm down a bit but I was worried about Trudie she could barely talk and when she did she was so quiet.

When Valkyrie got home she explained everything to us and I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I decided to tell them what just happened in a bit, right now Trudie really needed some support.

~Valkyrie's POV~

When everything was explained to me I felt like I couldn't breathe. My head was in my hands as I tried to remain calm. When I tried lifting my head the room spun. I couldn't believe it, me of all people having a panic attack. I didn't show it though if I started to freak out then we were all doomed.

"Nathan. Make some calls I don't care who you get I want guards around the entire perimeter, no one is to come in that we don't trust, Rayna you're going to have to tell me which of our pack you can trust. My people will kill whoever I don't tell them is trust worthy. They won't risk my safety. " I told them.

"And Trudie from now one you are not to go out alone after what happened tonight it's obvious that Dr.D needs you for more than just taking me and Nathan down. Also I will be watching you more closely. You still have my complete trust but I can't be to careful. Actually none of us are to leave this house alone. Rayna, you and Trudie will pair up, then Kynaree and I, and Nathan is already head of my guard so he and I will also be together." I continued.

Trudie was looking off into the distance and I knew the nights events had traumatized her. I was thankful I could no longer hear her thoughts. The horrors that she had went through would have made it hard to listen to not that I would have wanted to.

I looked up at Rayna and I debated with myself on letting her mate stay in my house making the smell even more distasteful, but if he kept Rayna safer I knew that I would feel better about everyone here too with a little more muscle.

"Rayna this is entirely up to you but I would feel better if Tryst came here too mainly for your safety. I hate to admit this but I am slightly afraid that he would kill me if you got hurt in anyway." I smiled.

"I'll think about it." She said surprised by my offer. She left the room cell phone already pressed to her ear talking in low whispers.

"Trudie I am so sorry about what happened tonight and if you need to talk about it I'll listen. No more 3 a.m shopping though okay." I shook my head still afraid that I was going to lose my calm and show what I was really showing behind the mask. Panic.

Kynaree and Trudie then left the room and I left by myself in the room. I wasn't alone for long though and Nathan was sitting beside me again. "They are on their way. Before they set up outside though I will make sure that they are still only loyal to the royal family." Nathan assured me.

"Thank you." I whispered. I leaned into his chest and he put his arms around me holding me securely. It wasn't long and the vampire guards had arrived. Nathan and I questioned everyone of them looking at all possible ways they might be lying to us. Once they had all proven that they were still loyal I told them where to hide and who to let through. When I mentioned Oni's name a couple of them asked why and I glared at them to stop their questions.

I felt better knowing that they were out there..but not by much.

~<>~Kynaree's POV~<>~

The clouds in the sky were very puffy against the blue, and the sun looked like it wanted to set in a hour. It was almost five. I slid into the passenger seat of Cecil's junky car and asked why we were going out to eat. He just looked at me like I was a moron and said "Well, you're bored, I'm bored and I assumed we're both hungry because it's about dinnertime."

"I guess," I mumbled, fighting the urge to roll my eyes. I was sick of him being right all the time.

"Where would you like to eat?" he asked, as the car started loudly.

"I don't know any restaurants," I shrugged and added with a glare, "And why do you always ask me stupid questions that you know I don't know?"

"I was just being polite," he said, smirking. Instead of asking me what I wanted to do the rest of the time he just dragged me along with him. We ate at a Chinese restaurant and I had noodles with broccoli in them. I wasn't sure what it was called but it tasted good. Cecil warned me that it might have beef or pork broth in it and I told him as long as I couldn't see the meat I didn't care.

Next he took me to a video rental store and told me to pick out a movie to watch, he explained that he'd rather sit at home and watch a movie then go to the actual theater. It took me a long time to try and decide on a movie, finally Cecil picked out three and made me choose between them. I still couldn't decide so eventually I had to close my eyes and point to one randomly.

"What's this movie about?" I asked him when we were at his house and he was putting in the DVD.

He shrugged, "Zombies, I think"

"Z-z-zombies?" I stuttered. He rolled his eyes jokingly and sat on the couch, "I need a blanket and possibly a pillow."

"Go get one from my bed," he told me motioning to the hallway with his thumb. His room was clean for once so I felt kind of bad when I ripped off his comforter and took one of the pillows. Just that adjustment made the room look messy again. I dragged the blanket after me and cuddled up in it when I reached the couch. I sat down and put the pillow in front of me like a shield. "Ready?"

"Mm-hm," I nodded even though from the DVD menu I could tell this was going to be very bad. Throughout the movie I made sure my blanket was ready to cover my eyes at anytime. By the time the movie was done I didn't know what it was about and hadn't watched half of it.

"I have to admit, that was one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen," Cecil said as I sat in the fetal position still wrapped in my blanket. "Are you okay?" I nodded and gulped. He chuckled, "Really? Because to me, it looks like you're going to throw up."

"Well, it's just that, I don't like zombie movies or scary movies very much at all," I mumbled the last part.

"It wasn't all that scary. The blood was incredibly fake and I mean zombies don't just walk around they're usually smarter than that. They don't go around and eat people either, unless it's vengeance I suppose"

"... Zombies are real?" I asked my voice raising an octave.

Cecil looked like he was calculating something in his head, "I should have thought before I said that..." I didn't know what to say after that and hid under the covers. "Kynaree," he said after a while, "Zombies aren't very common," he said trying to reassure me after I didn't answer.

He exhaled loudly and then unexpectedly tore the blanket off me. "Eh, cold," I complained and smiled at him letting him know I got over the zombie thing.

"And I thought you were really scared," he shook his head, as if he were disappointed that he fell for my trickery.

"I was," I told him seriously. Unfolding myself and then folding my arms across my chest. He looked skeptical and then I said "There are some benefits to being a faerie, we get distracted very easily."

"Yeah, I guess." He took out the DVD, then asked me if I wanted to go back to Valkyrie's yet. It was still pretty early in the night and I suggested another movie. This time he took out a movie that he owned, it was a comedy so I had no trouble watching it. We watched another two movies afterward, laughing at the funny parts and making fun of the stupid.

When the last movie finally ended I sank back into the couch and shut my eyes. I realized that the couch was more comfortable then usual "Why isn't there any guns hiding in your couch anymore?"

"Well.." he trailed off trying to figure out where to begin I presumed. "One night I took out one of those guns to make sure it still worked, they were all pretty old and hardly used. Anyways, when I was checking it out it kind of accidentally fired... at my coffee maker. And that was the end of that. I took out the rest of them because I figured nobody wanted a bullet being shot up their ass"

"Yeah, that was smart," I agreed, remembering when I used to sleep on this very couch, scary.

"Well, it's after three. Do you want to go or spent the night?" I thought about it for a few seconds and decided I wanted to go back to Valkyrie's. "So you want to make me drive this early in the morning?"

"Yep, just make sure it's on the right side of the road." He smirked at the comment and shrugged into his coat. I did the same and followed him out into his cold car, he turned up the heater right away and backed out of the driveway. I think I fell asleep on the ride over there because Cecil had to nudge me awake. "Good night," I yawned as tripped out of the car.

"Good morning" he corrected out the car window, I heard the car leave after I stepped through the door. When he did drive away I thought I heard something else. Some snarling coming from the woods. I hurried inside but it sounded like it was fading.

Rayna was there when I got inside, she had a look on her face that reminded of the insane zombies and their feeding frenzies. I gulped and followed her outside, I mentioned that she looked kind of crazy and she just asked me if I seen anyone. I said no but told her what I heard before I came in.

Trudie came back soon later and she didn't look too swell and made Rayna call Valkyrie. When Valkyrie returned home Trudie went on about this weird guy and I tried to pay attention without falling asleep. It's not that I didn't care, because I was worried about Trudie, but I was just really tired too.

I went right to my bed after the story and fell asleep quickly thinking about Cecil's stupid coffee maker dying story.

~Trudie's POV~

I went to my bed a little shoke that night. I decided to start a new book and I wasn't planning on leaving the house anytime soon. Never would be appreciated, but I'll have to leave sometime. I decided to try and make the night a little fun so I decided to look at Kynaree's dreams.

At this moment she was dreaming about Cecil, again. This time he had just woken up. He was walking out of his bedroom and went to his coffee maker to make coffee, when he started the coffee maker he went to sit on the couch. He must have thought it was lumpy and he fiddled with it and found some guns in it. He was messing around with the gun and all of a sudden the gun went off, it hit his coffee maker. His coffee maker exploded and he went crazy. The dream ended when Cecil put his guns from the couch in the dumpsters.

She woke up and obviously couldn't sleep, cause she bursted into my room and said "Hey, can we talk?"

"Yeah. What do you want to talk about? Cecil? I mean the fact that you can't stop dreaming about him?" I said with a smirk on my face.

"What? So now you snoop in on my dreams?"

"Well, I can't exactly have my own, and your's are funny." I said now laughing.

"Yes, I get that but what about Valkyrie or Rayna or Cecil for all I care. Stop laughing at me. Why do you laugh at me?" She was practically screaming at me by the end of her rant.

I was surprised. I stopped laughing when I saw her in the fetal position in the corner of my room. I felt bad for her so I got up walked over to her and said "I'm sorry Kynaree." I tried but she ran out of the room.

I figured if I ran after her she would just yell at me to get out of her room, but I figured I would try. I went to her door, tried to open it but it was locked. "I give up!" I yelled at her through the door and went back to my room to read some more. A hour later I figured she must be sleeping by now so dispite her yelling at me to stop snooping on her dreams I snooped.

This time she was dreaming of me. She was picturing my story that I told her earlier. Half way through the story, which was totally wrong by the way, I should know, she woke up scared to death. Before she could run in my room, I ran downstairs, not that its gonna stop her, she'll just come downstairs, and plus, I'm hungry.

A couple minutes later I heard a whole bunch of footsteps and yelling. I dropped a poptart on the floor so I bend down to pick it up. Valkyrie runs downstairs yelling stuff like 'where is she?' 'Why did she leave?' ' What happened to her?' Of course I'm behind the counter and I stand up slowly and their backs are to me. Valkyrie, Nathan, Rayna, Tryst, and Kynaree.

I was feeling a little out of the conversation so I said "Umm... What are you talking about? Who left? Did I miss something?"

"Trudie! YOUR ALIVE!" Kynaree comes running over and hugs me.

"Umm... yeah I am." I said a little confused.

"I thought you were dead!" she said.

"Well I'm not so fill me in here." I said pushing her off.

She filled me in about how she went to my room and I wasn't there and she thought I was taken, and that I had died. I told her she was crazy and we had a nice long chat while she was in the fetal position still scared from the dream. I told her once again that she was crazy and that she needed to get a life.

That day was a little weird. All of us all shook up from the night and Valkyrie was talking to Nathen about the gaurd. Rayna was 'talking' to Tryst. Quotes around talking since they were doing a little more that talking. (But i'm sure you already got that) Other than the whole me being dead thing that night wasn't that bad. I mean other that re-living in a totally MORE disturbed way of that ONE night. Why did she have to dream about me?

Kynaree walked into the room that afternoon when I was watching Wheel of Fortune on the couch. "You know, you were right I sould stop watching your dreams. They creep me out now." She didn't say anything but I knew she knew what I was talking about.
