Valkyrie's POV~
I sat in the lunch room looking at my so called friends who were laughing at a joke that Oni had just told. Not hiding the fact that I was rolling my eyes, I showed my disgust for their humor. I hated this life. All we ever did was eat, make jokes, start wars with different clans, and keep our secret safe. I wanted something different.
"Hey Valkyrie, what's up? You usually laugh your head off when I tell that joke." Oni asked noticing my silence.
"Not sure. I guess I'm just in a bad mood." I replied poking the rare meat on my plate with my fork.
"Another fight with your parents." He remarked.
"How'd you guess?" My voice was filled with sarcasm.
"Come on Valk you're always moody after a fight with your parents. It's not that hard to tell when the princess of the Ourea clan is in a bad mood. " Oni chuckled. I shot him a quick glare to warn him that I hated to be reminded about my heritage.
More people joined us at our table and began chatting away about the latest rule breaker who was to be executed for falling in love with a human and reveling about who they were. Disgusted I got up from the table hating that one of our own had to be killed just because they had fallen in love. I went to the bathroom to escape the group around me and their endless gossip.
Looking into the mirror and staring at my scarlet eyes, I flipped my long silver hair over my shoulder. I wore a white corset with a black jacket that was left open. I wasn't cold but I liked the style. My jeans were black and my knee high boots silver. My nails were painted black and my eyelids had white eyeshadow.
The warning bell rang for my next class and I reluctantly left the bathroom to head to my next class which was Literature. I zoned out for the rest of my classes not paying attention to any of them.
Once the day ended I headed to my 2008 corvette and put the key in the ignition. The car started with a satisfying hum and I quickly drove out of the parking lot to my home, deep into the forest.
I traveled up my driveway to reveal the mansion that was my home. Architecturally, it was beautifully made and was inspired by the Gothic churches of the medieval times.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home." I yelled knowing they would hear me anywhere in the house. What seemed like out of nowhere they appeared in front of me, both of them smiling.
"So how was your day?" My mother Skylla asked, in her always cheerful tone that made me want to vomit.
"Anything exciting?" My father Onyx asked next.
"It was the same old same old. Boring as ever." I replied in a dull tone.
"Oh it couldn't have been that bad." Skylla reasoned.
"Mom each day it gets more boring. I wanna transfer to a different school." I complained knowing I would get my way.
"Well which school do you want to transfer to?" My father asked.
"The human school."

~<>~Kynaree's POV~<>~
"Aren't you going to eat breakfast?" My mom asked. She didn't really care whether I ate or not, it was just a reminder. The woman had too many things to think about besides one of her twenty-one children.
"Nah, I'm gonna be late as it is. Buh-bye." I said hurrying out the opening of the hollow tree.
I stepped out of our home and onto a branch, I gave myself a head start by jumping as far off the branch as I could. Spreading my wings, I glided until I could touch the tops of the irises below with my fingertips. Flying was so much faster than walking. A clearing came into view and I landed softly on a dandelion, being as miniature as I was, the stew only bended slightly.
I slid on my amulet. The amulet was a rare item that was enchanted by the wizards and witches of many different realms. It was specifically designed for the realm I was about to enter. In an instant I was morphed into a human, the only difference that would tip me off as being non-human was my purple eyes and hair. They both matched my amulet along with my wings when I was in my natural form. Purple marked me as a spirit faerie.
I crushed the poor dandelion that was under me and made my way to the portal ahead of me. The portal looked like a crack in the middle of the meadow, with a light blue hue and white light surrounding it. I held my breath and leaped in, it was the same feeling I always got when I traveled through the portal. The sensation of car sickness hit me, along with feeling like I just fit through a keyhole.
"Ow!" I complained when I landed on my feet again.
I checked my hair first, making sure it wasn't too out of line. My locks were cut in a choppy modern-style and just fell past my ears. After the failed attempt of taming my mane I dusted off my clothes, which really didn't need dusting. I swung my duffel over my shoulder and walked out of the dark, narrow alley.
The bell rang about one minute after I walked into first hour. I didn't really like the human school but I knew it would give me better opportunities in the future so I went. I wasn't going to end up like my relatives before me, I was getting an education in academics, not magic.
Lunch came and I sat by some random geeky-looking group of kids that were Juniors like me. I didn't join their biology conversation, instead I picked at my salad, the lettuce was beginning to brown on the edges.
Finally, the end of the day came and I could finally go home to my own world. "Kynaree?" someone called from behind me. I turned around to see one of the girls I sat with at lunch earlier. "That's your name, right?"
"Yeah, Kynaree," I confirmed, not asking the girl's name.
"Well, um, I was wondering how you kept your hair so bright. Like... I mean usually when you dye it purple it doesn't show up that well" she seemed nervous and kept looking down. I shrugged casually.
"I, er, dye it... a lot" I'm probably the worst liar ever, but she seemed to buy it.
"You know you can ruin your hair by dying it too much" she told me with concern in her voice.
"Oh well, I'll see you tomorrow," I answered in a rush. "I need to be somewhere." I explained after seeing the hurt look on her face.
"Uh, yeah bye!"
I walked, taking a left when I reached the alley. I searched for any sign of life before taking off my necklace. Everything around me got ten times bigger as soon as the amulet left my neck and I ran through the portal before any human could see me.

--Xian's POV--
I treaded on the sidewalk, Aurora's hand in mine. Aurora and I have been together since, well forever. She was beautiful and I loved her more than anything.
Her hair was platinum blond and had a black streak along the side of her face. It was up in a ponytail, except for the streak. Her eyes were the most brilliant shade of violet, they were almost blue. Aurora wore her tight navy, almost black jeans and a tight fit, long sleeve T-shirt.
We were coming from my silver 2008 Viper, my favorite car in the world. I wore a gray shirt with a black leather jacket and less fitted jeans. My hair was black and my eyes were the same as Aurora's but hers were more beautiful. Of course our eyes were the same color, because we were both Dartans, half breeds as some may call us. We were human, or at least we were until the DNA of a vampire was injected into our own. We were created to defend the humans from vampires, and kill any one vampire we encountered.
Aurora and I went to the human school undercover. The first bell rang for class and the two of us were late again. Aurora had physics, while I had chemistry. Which let's face it, is not the most fun class.
I grabbed my tan, tattered fabric, bag, which held only a single book, I rarely had homework. I swung the strap over my shoulder and headed for class.
"Thank you for joining us Xian, take your seat please." The teacher, whose name failed to reach my memory, directed me to be seated with a sour look.
I sat down next to the human that we have been friends with to blend in a little more. He was roughly the same age as Aurora and I would be if we were human. I did have stuff in common with the kid and I liked having a normal companion, it made me feel more human. I hated this life that was chosen for me.
We hung out with Ethan when we weren’t acting all Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ethan sat there, quietly chatting about his weekend with his parents. I only pretended to listen, nodding when appropriate.
One thing caught my attention, his parents. I never had any.
Aurora and I were orphaned when we were young. We had no place to go. We were neighbors when a small group of vampires killed our parents and kidnapped us, intending on taking our lives as well.
Before they could do any damage, a man came and saved us. He was able to fight the vampires, and he did away with them. He had the strength and speed of a vampire, but he was human. At the time we had not known, but he was the first Dartan.
He was the son of a scientist whose name was Dr. Octavian Dartan, who created a serum that he had injected into his own son’s bloodstream. He used his own son as a guinea pig.
The serum had ingredients in it that were extracted from a vampire, the actual genes of the vampire's DNA.
Later, after Dr. Dartan had seen that the transformation was, he injected himself.
The man brought us to his father, where he injected us as well. We were in agony for days due to the changing of our anatomies. But when the process was finished, we were stronger, faster, and our sense of sight, smell, and hearing were much sharper.
Dr. Dartan, Jason - the man who had saved us-, Aurora, and I were super human, like vampires but without the lust for blood. We were called Dartans. Vampire Hunters were the most popular name for us in the vampire world.
Dr. Dartan became like our father, he taught us and looked after us.
We were created to protect humans from real vampires. We are exactly like vampires, except for the blood drinking thing. We needed to be just as strong and as fast as the vampires to defeat them. Dr. Dartan had wanted us to defeat the vampires once and for all, because his family were killed and fed on by the same vampires who had killed mine and Aurora’s families.
The bell rang and Ace and I went to our next classes. A few hours later we went to lunch, meeting up with Aurora. The three of us sat alone at the far end of the room and ate.
When the day was done droning on, Aurora and I left in the Viper home. Home was an odd word to use, seeing how we have not had a ‘home’ in many years, but the apartment in which we lived would suffice as ‘home’.

~*~ Rayna's POV ~*~
The stench of blood was overbearing, hunting seemed to be becoming more difficult than it had been in the beginning, being a werewolf was tricky at times. I walked through the door of my house and headed to my room, the whole front of my shirt was soaked in scarlet blood and I had to change quickly so I could get to school on time.
I grabbed a crimson hooded long sleeve shirt from my drawer and took off the stained shirt, throwing it to the floor. I wore a black tank top underneath.
"You were up early this morning." a husky voice came from the corner of the room. I spotted Tryst from the corner of my eye and I gritted my teeth.
"Why are you in my room...Why are you in my house?" I asked angrily, then quickly slipped the shirt on.
"What? I can't give my fiancee a ride to school?" a devious grin played upon his face as he lowered his eyes. I looked away as his eyes met mine, I hated the fact that I was given to him against my will and I already told him that if he ever brought up the marriage subject again, I would gladly slap him.
He walked in closer and moved a lock of my long wavy chestnut hair aside then leaned in to kiss me, I turned my face to the side and stepped backwards. "You are not here for that now lets go." I walked out the door with him trailing behind.
I started to walk to my bright red 1968 Pontiac Firebird. I'd always been into classics and I hated it when my mom and Tryst tried to push newer models on me, they just aren't my style. Tryst caught my arm and pulled me to his brand new '08 Chevy Camaro SS and of course in his favorite color, a sleek black.
"I'm not driving you in that piece of junk." Tryst said coldly then opened the door for me. I sat in the passenger seat and was about to protest his comment, but got cut of by him slamming the door on me.
He started the engine and began to rev it, I rolled my eyes and sighed in relief when he put it into gear and drove down my long driveway, then to the school. He cut the engine off when we arrived at the parking lot and he seemed very proud when he kept receiving stares and comments about his car.
"Egotistical maniac." I said under my breath, he caught it and whipped his head towards me, I opened the door and rushed out of the car, he got out too.
"What are you doing? I'm here, so you can leave now." I said harshly "Oh I didn't tell you?" he was playing with my mind now and I didn't like it one bit. "I enrolled here."
I closed my eyes and started shaking my head " N-no, you didn't! " I stuttered.
"I did, and you're just going to have to deal with it. C'ya later babe!" My eyes were still closed when he kissed me on the cheek.
"Don't call me babe!" I screamed and opened my eyes but he was already gone and I was getting a bunch of stares from passerbys. I began my deep breathing techniques. I picked them up once I found out I was engaged to that monster, It seemed to help in most situations, but not all.
The first warning bell rang and I jumped a little, I picked up my pack and headed into the school.

~Trudie’s POV~
I heard my alarm going off…
‘I’m so tired of being here, Suppressed by all my childish fears, and if you have to leave I wish that you would just plead, cause your presence still lingers here. And it won’t leave me alone, these words won’t seem to heal, this pain is just too real, there’s just too much that time cannot erase. When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears, when you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears, and I held your hand through all of these years, but you still held, on me.’
I finally shut it off. I just love that song. I wish I could just lay here in bed and listen to it, but I had to get up.
I got up and went to the bathroom and started getting ready for school. Someone knocked on the door. I thought that was a little weird since I lived by myself because my parents died in a car accident when I was 15 years old and I refused to live with anyone.
“Who is it?” I asked to apparently nobody, because no one answered. I felt a little scared. But I opened the door to see that it was my pet ferret rolling her ball against the door. “Oh, it’s just you little baby.” I said picking her up. “Where’s Rocky so you can have someone to play with?”
She just pulled her head back, telling me she wanted me to put her down. So I went back to getting ready to go to school.
I looked in the mirror to see my long wavy red hair and my favorite purple shirt that had snoopy on it, and realized that I was ready for school. I was about to get my stuff to go when my stomach started growling. “Crap.” I said aloud to no one. I walked to the kitchen to get something to eat. I was a little hungry for eggs but I didn’t have any. This week cash was scarce because I had just moved. So I settled for pop-tarts.
“Crap.” I said as I looked at the clock. It read 7:15. I was supposed to be there earlier since I had to get my schedule. So I grabbed my food and my bright orange backpack and ran out the door to my purple ’03 Chevy Impala. It was my mom’s car before she passed away. I couldn’t seem to sell it and get a new one.
When I got to school I was surprised by how big it was. When I got to the principal’s office to get my schedule she was waiting for me.
“Hello, you must be Trudie. My name is Ralph Ziningburg. You can call me Mr. Ziningburg.” He said when I walked in a little confused.
“Yes I am Trudie and it’s nice to meet you Mr. Ziningburg.” I said in the kindest voice possible for me.
“Nice to meet you too. Here is your schedule.” He replied handing me some papers.
“Ok, thank you.”
“It should be pretty self explanatory on the first page. Come see me if you have any questions.”
“Ok I will, thank you.” I said walking out the door to my first class which I guess is room C142.

Valkyrie's POV-
I smiled as I walked into my room on the third floor of the building. It had taken awhile but my parents had finally agreed to let me go to human school. Under one circumstance, I had a bodyguard with me at all times. That was the only point of disappointment that clouded my mind. Other than that I knew that nothing would drop me from my happy mood. I was one of the few of my kind to actually go to human school. Flipping on the light switch on my wall, I wasn't to surprised when I saw Oni sitting on my bed waiting patiently for me to come into my room.
"Oni just because you are the head of my guard and I also dated you once does not give you the right to break into my room on a regular occasion." I smirked at him. We had gone over this many times but still he did not listen to me and always was in my room when I least wanted him there.
It still surprised me that after we broke up he hadn't found another girlfriend. There was no denying he was handsome, and then there was that slight Italian accent that still clung to his voice from when he first moved over here from Rome. Female vampires were always trying to grab his attention but he never graced them with anything more than a nod of his head. Or a quick hello.
"Ah come on Valk you know I have nothing better to do." Oni complained as was our normal routine. I sighed as I sat on my bed next to him.
"I don't know why I even bother telling you any more you never listen."
"It's become a habit." He replied grinning.
"I'm sure it has." I smiled slightly back. He asked me about the school that I would be going to and asked if they knew who my bodyguard was going to be. I told him that so far that my parents hadn't chosen but they would most likely choose him. He seemed pleased by my answer and once we were both tired he climbed out of my window, (which was a lot easier than taking the stairs) and landed on his feet like a nimble cat.
I slept well that night even though in my mind I was preparing myself for the worst tomorrow. Like if anyone recognized what I was, or also to be prepared for people to not welcome me right away. Humans always had an unexplainable sixth sense that warned them of danger and well that didn't change for their reactions to Vampires who even though they were supposedly mythical we still sent off that sixth sense that they had.
I awoke the next morning to a bright and sunny day. I grabbed my sunglasses off my nightstand knowing I would need them if I didn't want my eyes to bother me all day. Oni meet me at the door as I rushed out the door and followed me to my car. I of course was the only one aloud to drive my cop-perish orange 2008 corvette. Today was my first day at human school. My first day to test my control over my thirst. We arrived at the school with quiet a bit of time to spare. We headed to the office building to get our schedules, with everyone staring at us as we went by.
I just hopped that Oni and I wouldn't meet any hunters here.

~*~ Rayna's POV ~*~
I didn't need to get my schedule in the office I asked for it a head of time and got it in the mail to avoid any akward conversations with the school officials. I headed past the main office and something was tugging at my brain trying to tell me something.
I didn't quite figure it out until I bumped into a girl, her skin was ice cold against mine, I looked up into her face and my copper eyes met a beautiful face which was half covered by sunglasses.
All I could do was stare, my body wouldn't let me move. I felt a warm hand snake its way around my waist and a low growl emitted from behind me, I blinked and where the girl once stood there was nothing but empty space.
I turned around and Tryst's tall figure was standing behind me with a couple of his friends, they were staring at the spot where the girl once stood.
"You should get to class" he dropped his arm and turned away
Millions of questions were swimming through my head and I needed answers. "Was she a ..." I trailed off "I'll explain later, now get to class" he commanded. I stood my ground and was showing no signs of moving, the final bell rang.
"Tell me" I urged on, he grabbed my schedule from my hand and took a look at it then grabbed my arm and practically dragged me to my class. I ended up making a fuss out of what he did and we began to argue right outside the door.
The door opened and a man in about his mid 40's with short brown hair ushered me in the room and shoo'd Tryst away. He seemed like a nice man and let me choose my own seat, there wasn't very many left so I took a seat in a desk closer to the back.
Once again there was a weird feeling in my head I looked around the room for the girl from earlier but couldn't spot her but instead there was a guy to my left who was talking to someone who looked more normal than he did, he had black hair and brilliant blue almost violet eyes which seemed a bit odd to me.
I silently cursed myself for not paying attention when my grandfather was going over the importance of different species.
The teacher introduced himself as Mr. Ortello and he started going over the basics of chemistry, I began to zone out half way through until the bell rang.
I rushed out and the rest of the day zoned by like first hour. That girl was in a couple of my classes but she seemed to keep her distance, she was in my journalism class along with this one girl with strange purple hair and nerd style glasses, she seemed like an interesing character.
I waited at the car for Tryst, and waited some more he really seemed to be taking his time. A car flew past me, a real nice model too, an 08' chevy corvette in metallic orange, there was a male sititng in the passenger seat and a woman driving i couldn't exactly make out the driver but i knew whoever it was they were looking at me as they went past.
Tryst finally made his way out of the school with his freinds following behind him, they dispersed as he made his way to me.
I got in the car once he unlocked it and put my seat belt on. "So, you said you would explain" I reminded him
He started the engine and backed up then headed out of the parking lot, he seemed to be in a slightly bad mood but when is he not, as to not push his buttons i waited til' we got to my house for the answer.

~<>~Kynaree's POV~<>~
I made it home and let out a long, drawn-out sigh, “Homework?” my mom asked. She just loved asking me stupid questions that she already knew the answer to.
“Oh yeah, tons” I grumbled back anyways. I had always wondered how, when I morphed, everything would morph with me. However, I probably shouldn't linger on the subject. Magic was magic, there really wasn't any logic there.
“Well, if you didn’t go to human school you wouldn’t get so much homework” she pointed out which drove me insane. Not many things in the world could get me mad. I was an optimist.
“Yeah!” my little sister Quinn teased, joining our conversation out of nowhere, “Today we learned how to burn stuff” Her red wings twitched with excitement and her fiery orange-red eyes narrowed. Quinn was younger than me but was already more advanced than me in her element.
“Really? I learned—“ I started but Quinn interrupted me.
“I don’t care what you learned, you learned dumb worthless human stuff nobody needs to know. Why know that when you can burn stuff!” she exclaimed and took out a wand. Its markings were different than mine, and although I couldn't see the engravings from where I stood, I new it had flames covering it. She flicked it quickly and fire burst through the top, “See?”
“Please honey, no fire in the house,” My mom told her. “Go outside and play with your sisters”
I had so many siblings I lost count sometimes, faeries didn’t age as quickly as humans physically, like many mystical creatures. So that meant they could have loads of children, which is what most female faeries wanted. “Who needs magic when they have knowledge?” I asked rhetorically. Knowing as soon as it was out of my mouth that it was incredibly stupid to say. Especially around these people.
“Well, I think fire works a lot better than throwing books” one of my older brothers said as he walked into our conversation and out the front door. I only had four brothers out of the 21 siblings. Don't ask why, but faeries almost always had girls, that's why when a female found male faerie, instantly they clung to them, not wanting to loose their shot. So yeah, guy faeries were self-centered egotistical jerks more often than not.
“I’m going to do homework” I said to no one, as I realized my mom wasn’t paying attention to me when one of my youngest siblings came up to her asking her to kiss her cut. I did as I said and found a sturdy black-eyed Susan and started my homework. When I finished I rested where I was, there was really no point in going back home. This was closer to the portal anyway.
I made it to school the same as I always did the next morning. The day went in its usual routine until journalism class when we had a partner assignment. The teacher put the names on the board and I was partnered with a girl named Valkyrie, she was new here.
I gave her a warm smile and shook her hand, “Hi the name’s Kynaree” Faeries were automatically charismatic, but she didn't seem affected by my charm.
“Valkyrie” she replied.
“Well, we should probably get this thing started” I told her and looked at the paper. “Uh, we’re supposed to interview each other and write a paper about each other”
She shrugged. I started coming up with lies to tell her about my family and my life. “Want me to start?” she finally asked and took the paper handout.
“Sure” I said slowly and gulped.
“Okay, hmm” she mused and found a question “What do you dream of being?”
“A… a pirate” I answered.
“A pirate?” she repeated. The way she said it, it sounded like a question.
“Uh-huh” I confirmed.
“Well, why do you want to be a pirate?”
“Because… uh, you know, they’re real cool. And have really long beards and say ‘Yo-ho-ho!’ They sail the seas and yeah they… they’re really something else” I finished lying as convincingly as I could. She gave me a really weird long stare with, what I thought for a second, looked like crimson colored eyes.
“How about you ask me next?” she obviously didn’t want to hear anymore of my bogus answers, I smiled at my cleverness. I scanned the paper and looked for a good question.
“What would you rather step in dog poop or dog puke?” I asked with a serious look on my face and then burst out laughing after she gave me a strange look. “It… it was a joke”
Valkyrie didn’t seem to find my humor very funny.

--Xian's POV--
I went down the spiral staircase that led from mine and Aurora’s room to the living room. Our apartment was big enough for a whole family to live in. It had four other bedrooms in it, but we used them for other things; a library, a computer room, a studio for Aurora to paint, and a storage room.
When Dr. Dartan was killed, the man who had saved us left us a lot of money to live with, he had told us to go and live the life we should have had. For all we know, he was dead.
I found Aurora already making breakfast in the kitchen. “Morning babe,” I kissed her, and stole a piece of toast from her hand.
“Morning,” she grabbed two plates from the cupboard and filled them with food. She smiled at me as she handed the plate to me.
We ate in silence as I glanced over my notes for a chemistry test first period. Tests were always easy, we were both smart, having been to high school for over 8 years now, but I studied anyway. It gave me something to do and let my mind focus on something other than hunting vampires for once in my life.
A few minutes later we finished eating and gathered our stuff heading out the door. We arrived at school, but as soon as I turned the corner, I knew that there was a vampire around. I turned the radio low after I parked.
"You saw it?" I asked her.
"Yup.." she said slowly, understanding exactly what I was talking about.
"Be cautious, always keep your eyes open and never ever let your guard down." I told her.
“I know the drill. This isn’t the first time we’ve had one show up here." she kissed me and left the car.
I took a deep breath and opened the door. I walked slowly to the entrance of the building. I turned to view the parking lot, searching for the car that would reveal the newest vampire in town. At the other side of the lot I saw the orange Corvette pull into a space. I have never seen the sleek, shiny copper-like colored car before.
Things had just started to settle down from the last vampire in the area. Now I had a feeling it was about to start right back up again.

~Valkyrie's POV~
There was something odd about this girl as she interviewed me. I tried to read her mind like I could with most humans but no matter how much energy I put out there her thoughts remained silent. She wasn't a vampire but something told me she wasn't exactly human either.
The bell rang before we could finish our interview and the assignment was due in a couple of days, we no longer had time to work on it in class.
"Well it looks like we will have to finish it after school." Kynaree told me.
"Yea." I replied not really wanting to offer that we do the assignment at my home.
"Do you think I could come over to your house? My parents are away and they don't let anyone come over when they are gone." She seemed slightly nervous to ask. It was a convincing lie but I saw right through it, but not wanting my chance to ruin my chance at a friendship with someone other than my own kind I let the lie slip by.
"Sure I guess that will work. Tomorrow night? It's a little to short notice for my parents for you to just pop in." I smiled at her.
"Sounds good." She agreed and walked away to her next class. I looked at my schedule to see what my next class was. It was American History with Mrs. Cantelle. I headed toward the classroom and stopped dead in my tracks at a familiar scent that filled my nose. Both of them were in the same class as me. The one thing that I feared would be at this school.
They sensed my presence and looked over at me. Instantly they recognized me for what I was and glared at me.
One did not mess with the Dartan vampire hunters if they wanted to live. The teacher cleared her throat, breaking me out of my trance and embarrassed I took a seat in the back far away from the Dartans. One was a woman with white hair like mine except with a black streak in it. The other was a male with raven black hair.
I kept my attention from wandering to them and payed attention to the lesson at hand. I had to get out of here soon before they could get the chance to 'talk' to me alone. The bell rang and without thinking to try to appear human, I was the first one out of the class before they had even moved. My next class was with Oni and I felt better knowing that if the hunters were in this next class with me I wouldn't be alone.
I met up with Oni at his locker and told him about the hunters. As soon as I told him he turned from lifelong friend to big macho bodyguard. I sighed wishing he would just leave well enough alone and not draw attention to us. Thankfully the hunters were not in the rest of my classes, but Oni and I left the school quickly not wanting to give them any chances.
I dropped Oni off at his house, driving home in silence, wondering how I was going to handle this situation. I wasn't the only so called mythical creature at that school, there were the hunters, a girl with purple hair that I knew wasn't a human, and I could have sworn I smelled werewolf there too.
The hunters and werewolves were the vampires greatest enemies. We have always been at war with them, and while there are still plenty of werewolves around, the hunters are almost extinct.
I walked into the front door where I knew my parents would be waiting for me to see how my day went.
"So how was human school did you make any friends?" My mother asked.
"It was my first day mom. I'm not gonna make friends instantly. But yea I think I made one friend. You'll get to meet her tomorrow, we have to work on a school project together so yea I told her that we can work here." I explained.
"That sounds fine." My mother agreed.
"Thanks. I'm gonna go do my homework now." I said already heading up to my room. I quickly did my homework and fell asleep not to much longer.
Tomorrow was going to be an interesting day.

--Xian's POV--
The vampire that we had seen was a girl, and was apparently in our grade, and also our History class. The only class Aurora and I shared, and she had to be in it. We knew our orders. From the very moment we were old enough to hunt, we were told to kill the evil bloodsuckers at all costs. We always did. We were always obedient.
Hunting vampires was one of our least concerns. Having the same genetic material as those creeps was horrible all in its self. But we had to in order to be able to kill them.
After school Aurora and I talked it over.
"I think we should wait. You know how those things act when they are around us. Chances are, she dropped out and fled the area already." Aurora said.
"Yeah, but if she didn’t leave, then what are we to do?" I asked wondering.
"We shouldn’t destroy her until the time is right. We watch her, carefully, and if she kills a human and drinks their blood, we take her out."
"Watch her how?" I asked
"I will follow her around, go to where she lives and continue until the end of the day. You’ll watch during the night. For now it is all we should do."
"We will watch, but stalking is a little too much. I say we talk to her and see what the deal is, and why she is here. Maybe it has something to do with the new werewolf too.”
“A werewolf too?" Aurora asked. I must have forgotten to mention it.
"Yes. Two of them actually, one male and one female. Do you think it’s a coincidence?" I asked. What are the odds that both would show up on the same day. But then again, anything was possible.
"So it’s clear? We’ll talk to her first, and act later.”
“Yes.”

Valkyrie's POV~
I awoke early that morning to my alarm that went off at about 3:30 a.m, to remind me that I needed to hunt. Hunting was always easier in the morning, mostly everyone was asleep except for the hard partiers who were easy game. Dressing quickly I called up one of my other vampire friends who I knew would need to hunt this morning also. Her name was Layla.
She answered her phone in a sleepy tone and I knew that I had awaken her from her slumber. "Yea?" Layla mumbled into the phone.
"Wake up. You're going hunting with me." I told her knowing she would be ready in five minutes.
"Kay. I'll see you in ten." She hung up on me and I jumped out of my window not feeling the need to use the stairs. I opened the garage where my car was parked and got in. Cranking the stereo with my new Lordi CD in I drove to Layla's house. She was already waiting outside for me and she climbed into the passenger seat smiling.
Layla was one of the few vampires I could actually call my friend. She had chocolate brown hair and her eyes were an emerald green color. She was a little bit shorter than me but not by much. We also had about the same style of clothes.
"Of course you have to bring the fancy car." She laughed.
"Yea its my baby you know that." I grinned, turning onto the main highway into town.
"So where are we hitting tonight. Last week it was Rebel so it would be best to stay away from there for awhile, so how about we hit the guys at the bars." Layla, suggested.
"Sounds good to me. I could use some partying tonight." I agreed with her.
"Yea especially after your hard day at human school I mean what were you thinking? Humans? Come on I would expect that from anyone but you." She ranted.
"Come on everyone has to have some change in their life somehow. Guess who is at the human school too." I was making her guess.
"Humans." She replied in a duh tone.
"Well yes they are there but also the Dartans." I told her as I parked the car into the parking lot of the nearest bar.
"Holy crap you're kidding right. I mean you have a bodyguard with you right? Oni is there with you? I mean we cant lose our future ruler to some stupid vampire hunter." She whispered while we walked up to the door of the bar.
"Yea Oni is with me. I'll be fine and don't say future leader. Ugh that is the last thing I want to think about." I shuddered. She didn't say anything else and we entered the bar looking for our 4:00 a.m snack.

~Trudie's POV~
I walked out of the office and tried to find room C142. Finally I found it walked in and the teacher greeted me. "Hello you must be Trudie, I'm Mr. Wheaton. You can have a seat please."
"Ok Mr. Wheaton." I said smirking. What kind of name was that. I picked the closest seat to the front that was open. There was a girl with purple hair sitting next to me. That was cool. She was really pretty. "Hello." I said sitting next to me. "My names Trudie."
"I'm Kynaree" She said looking kind of annoyed that i was talking to her.
"Nice to meet you." I told her.
"Yeah, sure." She said.
Yeesh. Whats her problem.
The class was kind of boring. I mean I loved math so i already knew how to do geometry I only took it to get an easy credit. When the class was over I tried to find my next class i couldn't find it and I saw Kynaree a little waise down the hall. I caught up to her and asked. "Do you know where the American History class is?"
"Yeah I have it next. I geuss I could show you where it is." She said.
"Cool that would be a big help."
She showed me where it was and the rest of my classes where pretty easy to find. When the day was over I went to my purdy purple car and drove home. When I got there I figured I would do homework first then I would finish unpacking. I just got to this apartment and still had a lot of stuff. I figured since my mom and dad passed away I didnt want to pay for a house by myself. I didn't have to work tonight so I had a lot of time to unpack. I had to work as much as posible since I refused to take any money from any other family members unless I had to. I still got 1,000 dollars a month since thats how much my parents made. So I had plenty I didn't need to live with anyone.
Later that night I called Drew. Drew was my best friend from back home. When I called him he didn't answer so I left a message. "Hey Drew it's me Trudie. I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner since I havn't seen you in a while. Well Call me when you get a chance."
Ten minutes later my cell rang. "Yo," I new it was Drew so i didnt care what i said.
"Hey still open for dinner?" He sounded eager like he had something he needed to talk to me about.
"Yup of course. Where you want to go?"
"Well I was thinkin since you live 45 mins away we could meet in the middle. Theres an Olive Garden in Forinic. We could go there."
"Sounds good. I'll meet you there at six. Would that work?"
"Yeah. See you at six."
"Bye" I said hanging up the phone. I went in the bathroom to make sure I looked ok. I was purdy good. So I walked out the door. I had about a half an hour to get 20 miles I knew i would make it.
20 minutes later i got to the restraunt to see Drew already there 10 minutes early. I walked up to him and said. "Hey"
"Hey," He said.
Right before we walked into the restraunt he surprised me by kissing me right on the lips. I kissed him back and I swear the kiss was gone before I knew it even though it lasted quite a while. When it was done I was speechless. We didn't say anything for a while we just stood there and looked at each other. Ten minutes later I said. "Well we should probably go inside if we ever want to eat."
"Yeah," He said. Still Shocked at how long the kiss lasted.
We walked into the restraunt and got seated right away. "I'll have the soup and salad special." I said when the lady came to take our order.
"Yeah sounds good to me. I'll have that to." Drew said. And when the waiter walked away he continued. "Well, we should probably talk about that kiss."
"Yeah, umm..."
"Will you go out with me?"
"Of course." I started laughing.
"Whats to funny?"
"I've been waiting forever to have you ask me that."
"Well that makes two of us. Well the part of going out with you anyways."
The food came a few minutes later and we ate it talking about the next time we would see each other. Later on we left and I went back home. I smiled the whole way knowing I was going out with Drew now. When I got home I reviewed my homework to make sure I had it done. Then I went to bed.
I woke up to my phone ringing. It was 5:30 a.m. I looked at the caller I.D. It was Drew. "Hello" I said in a sleepy voice.
"I'm sorry I woke you but I had to hear your voice."
"Whats wrong with Hi." I said making myself wake up so he didn't hang up so I could go back to sleep.
"I'm sorry babe. I'm really sorry."
"Will you just say hi and we can start this conversation over."
"Hi honey."
"Hi."
"Liike I said I needed to hear your voice. I'm on my way to work so I wont get to talk to you later."
"Ok well I'm glad you did. You have no idea how hard it has been not being able to see you like at all. But I couldn't handle living there with all that happened and stuff.---" I started crying.
He cut me off. "I know hon. I don't blame you. I know its hard."
"You should blame me."
"Why its not your fault?"
"I don't want to argue with you so i'm not going to answer that question. I just wish I could see you."
We had a long conversation and it finished at 6 when he had to be to work. So I decided to start getting ready for school.

~<>~Kynaree's POV~<>~
I got to school in a rush, which really didn't help the mood I was in. It took a lot to get me in a bad mood but when you did you'd better watch it. Last night when I got home all I heard was "nag nag nag" and this morning I couldn't find my history book that had all my history assignments. Apparently a few of my younger siblings needed paper for a burning experiment, I don't think I need to explain more.
When I made it to my first hour class the bell rang as I walked in. I sat down and took a few deep breaths, There's no need to be such an angry psycho, I told myself.
"Hello, my name's Trudie" a girl said from next to me. I could tell Trudie was a new girl, what was up with all the new kids?
"I'm Kynaree" I told her, I sounded annoyed even to myself. I guess my Not being crabby thing wasn't really working.
"Nice to meet you" she went on.
"Yeah, sure" I suppose it was nice meeting me, in a human's eyes I must have looked pretty amazing. My unearthly purple hair and eyes, even with the awful expression on my face and the different style of clothing I wore, I couldn't cover up my faerie beauty.
We had a pop quiz, I guess the world was out to get me, I had no idea what half of the quiz said. I thought math was supposed to be numbers, what was up with all the symbols? I bit the end of my pencil and guessed as much as I could, but I started getting desperate and began glancing at the answer sheets next to me. Trudie looked pretty smart so I copied the answers that I could.
I left the class feeling a little guilty for copying her answers after being so rude to her. I told myself that there was no way I was getting a bad grade in geometry after all the hard work it took me to get to this human school in the first place. Trudie interrupted my train of thought by asking me if I could show her to the U.S. History classroom.
"Yeah I have it next. I guess I could show you where it is" I offered, and added mentally, Especially after helping me out with that geometry quiz.
"Cool that would be a big help" I didn't see until now how attractive she was for being a human. Her hair was mahogany, but it was red in this lighting and fell in waves past her shoulders. She also had a nice smile.
I lead her to the room, and nervously walked up to the teacher. He was at his desk typing away, probably making up a quiz or test. "Mr" Er, how do I say his name? "Weaselman?"
He looked at me, no, glared at me. "It's Mr. Weezleman" Who hired these freaky named teachers? "And yes, Kynaree?" I think he tired sounding genuinely nice, but it didn't work. He still had that sour expression plastered on his face.
"I.. I lost my book" I confessed, "And all my assignments were in it"
"Then they're late and you owe the school 49.99$ for the book" he said bluntly.
I sighed deeply and walked to my seat, how on earth was I going to get 49.99$? In my realm we didn't need money and took what we needed. We weren't greedy fat no good humans, our services were rewarded with items or food.
Lunch came and I got my usual salad. Its not that I thought I was fat or anything, I just simply didn't like meat. Growing up the size of a small bird we really didn't eat meat unless it was from bugs. Caterpillar was common.
It looked like Valkyrie and her friend were having a better conversation then the usual star wars stuff the geeks talked about. I left the table without a word and walked over by them. When I got there they both turned silent and I got a little uncomfortable.
"Hey" I greeted Valkyrie.
"Hello" she replied.
"Can I sit here"
"I don't care" she shrugged and looked at the guy next to her. He shrugged too.
"So..." I started my eyes were moving from face to face. "How are we all doing today?"
"Fine" they both answered.
The whole lunch was a bit weird and Valkyrie was glaring at a group on the other side of the lunch room. I followed her gaze and wondered what was up, I didn't ask because I didn't feel welcomed here to begin with, I didn't want to be annoying like that Trudie girl.
"So you still coming over tonight?" Valkyrie asked.
"Yeah," I said, like I totally remembered, which I didn't.
"Alright, meet me at my car after school" she told me and went to dump her tray with food that was untouched. The guy, who was named Oni, followed her. There is definitely something going on in this school, I confirmed after taking a longer look at the new strangers that all seemed to arrive at once.

~*~ Rayna's POV ~*~
I sat on the kitchen counter as Tryst exlained everything to me.
"Yes, the girl and guy we saw in the hallway are vampires, and there seems to be a large assortment of creatures in this school" He started pacing back and forth
I followed him with my eyes for some time and watched his face change from confused to angry and everything in between, he didn't seem to be liking the fact that there were other creatures there as well.
"Well they're not a threat are they, that girl didn't really seem like a threat" I tried to explain to him as gently as I could.
Trytst began shaking his head as if I didn't get it. "Vampires are threats to our very existence, they cannot be trusted at all costs, how could I have expected such a young werewolf like you to understand it" the way he said that sounded like an insult to me.
"I may be a young werewolf but are you forgetting what blood runs through my vains?" I lashed back at him
A snarl ripped from his throat and in an instant he was only 2 inches from my face holding my hands to the counter.
"I am reminded of that everyday Rayna, you have no idea what the scent of your blood, of your very skin does to me" I looked away remembering the day when he told me that he knew we belonged together, I never wanted to believe him then and I still don't today, but he seems to have it in his mind that we are mates, which is absolutely absurd.
He pulled his face away but didn't move his body, I quickly searched my mind for another topic to talk about.
"What about that one boy, umm, he has extremely dark hair and out of placed blue eyes...what is he?" I asked curiously
"They are called Dartans, or better known as vampire hunters" he explained
"Oh so, they're our friends" I assumed
"There is no way in hell werewolves and dartans would be allies" his temper started to rise slightly. "but we both dislike vampires" I tried to argue my point
"Dartans live to hunt Vampires it is their primary goal in life, ours is to live of our own accord and defend ourselves if threatened. We are brought up to hate anything vampire related, they have vampire blood, which means we would not get along very well, vampires and werewolves are like cats and dogs." he summed it up pretty well
"So what does this mean" I asked
"It means you have to be careful" he said softly. A chill ran down my spine, it was so unusual to hear Tryst use that tone of voice, he is normaly always loud and angry.
"K" I hopped off the counter and started to walk past him, he reached out for my arm and turned me towards him. "No not just K, promise me you'll be careful" he was serious again.
I searched his eyes trying to figure him out then nodded, "I promise" I said then climbed the stairs to my room. I watched Tryst enter his car and drive off down my drive way.
It's so hard to understand him at times, sometimes he is arrogant, rude, and thinks he's the pope, and other times he is sweeter, more gentle, and can actually be fun to talk to. I guess he cares about me but I'm unsure about my own feelings, that's when he is in his good mood.
And sure he is a real looker and most of the girls at school would do anything to be with him, y'know the ideal man, tall, dark, and handsome...bla bla bla that's all crap to me, the main thing that worries me are his intentions I still haven't figured out if he is just trying to marry me to become The Alpha of the pack or another reason.
Once again being a werewolf is just flat out difficult, and to top it off i still haven't perfected my transformation, oh my mom will just be so glad to hear that... right.
